About this item

This Small Dhol brings the same authentic construction as Assam's classic Bihu drum into a more compact, easy-to-handle size. Hand-carved from a single length of Kothal (jackfruit) wood, its cylindrical body is sealed at both ends with laced goat-skin membranes, producing the familiar bright-and-bass double tone when struck with a bamboo stick and hand. Lighter and smaller than the full-size performance dhol, it is well suited to younger players, practice sessions, or as a striking decorative piece that carries the full craftsmanship of the traditional instrument in a more manageable form.
