About this item
This handmade cotton Gamosa is woven in classic red and white, with a large floral medallion border, small flower motifs on the body and red striped edges. The fringed ends add to its traditional charm. At about 180 by 64 CM, it is generous enough to drape as a stole or scarf and works well as a towel. Soft and easy to care for, it suits daily use as well as ceremonies. Wear it at Bihu, offer it to guests or gift it to a father, husband or elder as a warm symbol of Assamese heritage and respect. Hand wash separately in cold water with mild detergent, as the red woven yarn may bleed in the first wash. Dry in shade, iron on medium heat and store folded.
