About this item

This Kahor Kahi in the flat style is a traditional Assamese dining plate hand-beaten from bell metal (Kansa) by artisans of Sarthebari and Hajo. It has a wide, shallow body and a smooth, low raised rim, polished to a rich mirror-like golden shine. Measuring about 28 cm in diameter and 6 cm high, it is roomy enough for rice and several accompaniments. Use it for daily meals or reserve it for Bihu feasts, weddings and special family occasions. Kansa ware is passed down through generations in Assamese homes, making this plate a meaningful gift.
