This Pan Dhua Kahi is a traditional Assamese dining plate hand-beaten from bell metal (Kansa) by artisans of the Sarthebari and Hajo craft belt. It has a broad, slightly raised rim and a fine engraved pattern at the centre, finished in a warm golden tone. Measuring about 26 cm across and 4 cm high and weighing around 400 g, it comfortably holds rice and accompaniments for a full meal. Kansa plates are a cherished part of Assamese dining during Bihu, weddings and family occasions, and make a meaningful heirloom gift for newlyweds and loved ones.

Care/Usage

Usage: Ideal for serving rice, curries, sweets and daily meals; also suited to puja and festive use. Avoid heating directly on flame and avoid storing sour or acidic food for long periods.Care: Wash with mild soap or traditional tamarind/lemon and ash scrub, rinse and wipe dry immediately with a soft cloth. Do not use steel wool or harsh abrasives. Polish occasionally with pitambari or lemon and salt to restore the shine.
