About this item
The Pepa is the signature instrument of Bihu, whose sharp, joyful notes open Bihu songs and dances. This Pepa is handcrafted from a curved buffalo horn bell fitted to a bamboo mouthpiece painted in bright red and black bands. It is made by traditional artisans of Assam and produces the characteristic Pepa sound when played. Compact and light, it is ideal for Bihu performers, cultural groups and music students, and makes a striking display piece and gift for collectors of folk instruments. Being handcrafted, slight variations in colour, size and pattern make each piece unique.

Usage: Played in Bihu songs and dances; also a display piece for music rooms and showcases.Care: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use. Keep away from water, humidity and direct heat to preserve tone. Store in a dry place when not in use.
