About this item
This wall décor features a Vishnu mask made in the Mukha tradition of Majuli, the river island of Assam where monks of the Vaishnava sattras have crafted masks for Bhaona theatre for centuries. Shaped from bamboo and clay and hand painted, it portrays the serene face of Lord Vishnu with a pale blue complexion, tilak and ornate red and gold crown. Measuring about 30 x 26 cm, it makes a striking wall piece for living rooms, prayer rooms and entrances. A treasured collectible and gift for lovers of Indian art. Being handmade, slight variations in colour and finish may occur.
