The idea of HereCraft was born not in a boardroom, but on the ancient banks of the Ganges in Benaras. One of our founders had journeyed there for work, yet amidst the sacred city he sought something simple and heartfelt — a Benarasi saree to bring home for his wife. What seemed like a small act of love soon revealed a larger truth. Finding an authentic saree, crafted by true artisans, was far harder than expected. Amidst endless shops and uncertain claims, the genuine craft — the piece carrying the soul of Benaras — felt hidden, almost out of reach.
As the founder stood by the flowing Ganges, watching its waters carry centuries of stories and traditions, a realization arose: if finding authenticity in Benaras itself was so difficult, how many other cultural treasures across the world remain hidden, waiting for seekers yet inaccessible to them?
From that moment, the vision of HereCraft took shape — a global marketplace to connect artisans with those who long for authentic, place-specific creations. A bridge between hearts and cultures, carrying stories across the globe, as timeless and true as the river that inspired it.
